The tournament, co-hosted by Pakistan and the UAE, promises high-stakes encounters. The opening match will see Pakistan face New Zealand in Karachi, while the highly anticipated Pakistan-India showdown is locked in for 23 February in Dubai.

Adding to the celebrations, the PCB chief will hold a dinner to honour the workers who played a crucial role in the refurbishment of the revamped Gaddafi Stadium.

With the world’s biggest stars coming together, the stadium will be at the centre stage of one of the most prestigious tournaments in sport.

He also acknowledged the criticism they faced but credited their unwavering focus, with Allah Ta’ala easing their path.
