India has locked in its squad for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, and it’s a solid mix of experience and fresh faces.
Eight players from their T20 World Cup 2024-winning team are back, with Rohit Sharma continuing as captain and Virat Kohli anchoring the batting order.
But there’s a big blow—Jasprit Bumrah is out with a back injury, forcing a last-minute change.
Stepping in is 22-year-old Harshit Rana, who made his ODI debut earlier this year and played a key role in Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL triumph.
The pace attack still looks lethal, thanks to Mohammed Shami, who dominated the 2023 Cricket World Cup with his wicket-taking spree.
With a mix of proven match-winners and rising talent, India will be aiming to keep the momentum going and push for another big title.

With Tim Southee and Trent Boult stepping aside, it’s a big opportunity for rising talents like Will O’Rourke, Nathan Smith, and Ben Sears to make their mark.
They’ll be competing for spots alongside experienced quicks Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson, who bring plenty of firepower to the attack.
Meanwhile, the batting line-up looks solid, with Kane Williamson, Devon Conway, and Rachin Ravindra—who racked up an impressive 578 runs at the 2023 World Cup—leading the charge.
It’s a squad with the right mix of youth and experience, and fans will be eager to see how they perform on the big stage.

Bangladesh is heading into the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 with high hopes after making the semi-finals in 2017.
This time, Najmul Hossain Shanto takes the captaincy, leading a squad that blends seasoned veterans with rising stars.
The experience of Mahmadullah and Mushfiqur Rahim will be invaluable, while the young guns bring plenty of energy.
One to watch is Nahid Rana, the team’s fastest-ever bowler, who consistently hits 150kph and could be a real game-changer.
Then there’s Rishad Hossain, an aggressive hitter who announced himself in T20I cricket with a six off his very first scoring shot and repeated the feat on his ODI debut.
Both 22-year-olds will be eager to make their mark and push Bangladesh toward a deep tournament run.

Australia is heading into the tournament without some of its biggest names. Mitchell Starc has stepped away for personal reasons, while injuries have sidelined Pat Cummins (ankle), Josh Hazelwood (hip), and Mitchell Marsh (back).
On top of that, Marcus Stoinis has called it quits on his ODI cricket career, leaving a noticeable gap in the squad.
To cover for these absences, Aaron Hardie, Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, and Spencer Johnson will take charge of the seam attack, while young spinner Tanveer Sangha steps in to support Adam Zampa.
With Steve Smith leading the team in Cummins’ absence, his experience will be key, especially in a batting lineup that includes Travis Head, who smashed 137 runs in Australia’s victory over India in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final.
Even without some of their star players, this squad has enough firepower to put up a serious fight.

England’s squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 has a mix of experience and fresh talent. With Jos Buttler leading the side, they’ve gone for a balanced approach.
Tom Banton has earned his spot after an impressive run, stepping in for the injured Jacob Bethell. At 26, he’s already shown his power with two ILT20 centuries in the UAE.
Meanwhile, Joe Root is back in the 50-over setup after missing action since the 2023 World Cup, ready for his third Champions Trophy.
Veterans Adil Rashid and Mark Wood bring much-needed experience, while Surrey’s rising stars Gus Atkinson and Jamie Smith add fresh energy after making waves in Tests last year.
And then there’s Jofra Archer—a serious game-changer when fully fit. With a mix of battle-tested names and exciting new faces, England looks set to make a real statement in this tournament.

Afghanistan had to make a last-minute adjustment to their squad after AM Ghazanfar was ruled out with a back injury, bringing in 20-year-old left-armer Nangyal Kharoti as his replacement.
They’ll also be missing the ever-reliable Mujeeb Ur Rahman, but Rashid Khan—who once set a record by grabbing 100 ODI wickets in just 43 matches—remains a key part of the squad.
Their batting line-up still looks dangerous, with Ibrahim Zadran coming off a stellar run in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, where he smashed 87 against Pakistan and an unbeaten 129 against Australia.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz also had a solid tournament, racking up 280 runs. While a few big names are missing, Afghanistan still has the firepower and depth to make a real impact in this tournament.
